    Hello,

New to Soundjack. Just wondering if it is possible for two musicians to connect over Soundjack and for one of the musicians to record live both musicians on separate tracks on their local machine/ laptop into their DAW like Garageband or Logic Pro X. Would we need a special plugin to be used between Soundjack & our DAW? Thanks for any advice!

In general terms it is feasible.
On windows, you would need to google for “virtual audio cable”, that will lead to softwares which allow to create virtual inputs and ouputs.
Essentially, your microphone input would go to virtual input, and then that will need to split the signal to two virtual outputs.
You would set Jackaudio input to one of them, and your DAW input to the other, so whatever you play is recorded.
Same with the audio coming from Soundjack.
On Mac you probably do not need additional software, the OS is already capable of splitting the signal to virtual ouputs, google it up.

I really like this idea because it brings live collaboration to another level. Recording through Soundjack while using a DAW sounds exciting, almost like when you play 2 player games and both players have to stay perfectly in sync to make everything work smoothly.

Every time I pass a wave in space waves, my heart races. The electronic sounds and lighting effects make it feel like I’m playing a live concert in space – it’s really cool!

I’m pretty new to Soundjack too, but I’ve been tinkering with similar setups in Garageband. From what I’ve gathered, it should be doable to record separate tracks, but the key is routing your audio correctly. You might need a virtual audio cable or something similar to get the Soundjack output into your DAW as separate inputs. It can be a bit of a headache to configure, honestly! It reminds me of playing Eggy Car sometimes – you think you’ve got the perfect angle, then BAM, the egg rolls off at the last second!

Thanks for the clear explanation! Slope Rider Using virtual audio cables on Windows or the built-in routing on Mac is a smart way to split and record audio from multiple sources simultaneously.
